You are asking, "Who is my child's kindergarten teacher?" I am a wife, mother, grandmother, student and educator. I graduated from MidAtlantic Christian University in 1977. It was there that I met my husband and we were married in 1976. I taught at Countryside School in Cambridge, Maryland for five years. After the birth of my eldest son, I worked part time teaching and managing private preschools. I worked in the private field and returned to public school education in 2007. I obtained my Masters in Elementary Education in 2010 from the University of West Georgia. My greatest honor in my career was to be chosen as Clayton County Teacher of the Year 2014.
My husband and I have three grown children and two wonderful children who elected to be ours through marriage to our biological kids. We have been blessed with one precious grandson.
My desire is give students the education that I want for my children and grandson. I follow the county's curriculum pacing guides and provide learning tasks that engage and challenge students to learn at their own pace. I strive to help my students find their own special gifts and talents so that they might discover their own goals in life. I respect the love and knowledge that parents have for their children and understand the partnership needed to support the academic and social success of each child. I am a team player.
Who am I? I am a facilitator, friend, partner, cheerleader, evaluator, trainer, leader and more. Be prepared to work with me as we empower students to meet the standards mandated by the state.
